HIJAMA
CUPPING CLINIC

FOR THE HOLISTIC TREATMENT OF PAIN,
IMMUNITY & DISEASE

For a wide range of common health problems, chronic conditions, sports recovery and general physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being. Addressing the root of the problem, cupping restores your balance and activates your body’s natural healing ability. The effect is your body feels fresh, revitalized and at optimum health.

"Hijama" comes from the Arabic work "hajm" which means 'sucking'. Also known as Wet Cupping is a method of removing harmful blood and toxins from your body. It is the most frequently used, oldest and often the most effective method of holistic treatment. With a host of health benefits that can often outweigh techniques of modern medicine. Practised in a clean and clinical environment, small scratches are made on the surface of the skin and the blood containing toxins is removed from the body with the aid of a vacuum pump.

Another form of cupping offered at Hijama Cupping Clinic is Dry Cupping, which is of two types, Fixed and Moving Cupping.

We combine all three forms of cupping so you gain maximum benefit from your treatments. From Hijama Wet Cupping to Moving & Fixed cupping, you can be completely confident that your mind, body and soul is at the heart of everything we do.

YOUR QUESTIONS

Fixed Cupping is the application of a suction cup over an area of intact skin. The suction is created either by use of an open flame, known Fire Cupping or a manual vacuum pump to create negative pressure. As your skin is sucked into the cup, it rises and reddens as the blood vessels expand. This encourages underlying blood and fluid to the surface of the skin, away from the area of inflammation, creating a mild immune response.

Moving Cupping is a powerful treatment and involves a light suction cup applied over an area of intact skin which has been prepped with some oil, to allow for the cup to slide across the surface of the skin. Moving cupping is like the opposite of getting a massage - instead of applying pressure into the skin, it draws lesions out.

Fixed & Moving Cupping break down tension in muscles, loosens connective tissue and relieves local blood congestion. Moving Cupping encourages the sluggish lymph fluid under the skin to get more active and encourage flow of blood and fluid.

Dry and Moving Cupping involves placing the cup on the surface of the skin and creating negative pressure. The skin rises into the cup, loosening connective tissue under it. The sensation of this can be relaxing. Where the cups have been applied, the localised skin may discolour after a fixed cupping session. The discolouration usually fades away between 3 to 10 days.

The Hijama Wet Cupping involves scratching the surface of the skin with a sterilised, single use surgical blade. The discomfort is similar to that of a paper cut however most clients will find it to be a 'ticklish feeling'. After the Hijama Wet Cupping session the scratches may sting slightly for 12-48 hours, whilst they heal. It is recommended to apply a high quality olive or coconut oil on to the scratches to support the healing process.

The superficial scratches typically heal within 7 to 21 days, and does not usually result in scarring if the provided after care advice is followed. However a very small percentage of individuals may incur scarring due to their skin type or failure to persist with aftercare advice provided.

There are recommended (sunnah) days in the lunar calendar to perform Hijama Wet Cupping therapy. Prophetic narrations mention the 17th, 19th and 21st day of the lunar month. For those who are healthy it is better to follow the prophetic guidelines.

TESTIMONIALS

SR

Aged 32, Secondary School Teacher
Shoulder Injury

I have always been drawn to alternative medicine and after hearing about a family members experience, hijama was something I really wanted to try for myself. After a very in depth and detailed consultation with Naseera I had my first hijama session. An extremely professional and spiritual experience. Despite being a little apprehensive, when it came to the crunch I was made to feel totally relaxed and comfortable. The actual procedure was very pleasant and more painful to look at rather than experience. I have already recommended hijama to family and friends. I am looking forward to my next treatment with the hope of boosting my energy levels and alleviating aches and pains. Thank you Hijama Cupping Clinic for such a wonderfully spiritual healing experience.

MC

Aged 53, Private Sector Nurse
Upper & Lower Back Pain

I had my first wet cupping session done three months ago and it really helped me with my upper and lower back pain. Since then I have had two more sessions of wet cupping and another session of only dry and moving cupping. Wet cupping takes out the toxins sitting under the surface of the skin so dont worry about the blood coming out because it gets rid of the dirt. I feel better for it. I would recommend it for all to try and feel the difference. Cupping is a great therapy for muscular pain, health issues and natural cures are best! The practitioner is so kind, efficient and I recommend her to all. Thank you Hijama Cupping Clinic!

ZP

Aged 69, Homemaker
Anxiety & Low energy

Throughout the 6 sessions I felt my mental clarity and concentration increase. In the past I would ask my daughter to speak on my behalf, but now I can handle my own appointments, and I can mentally process what is being said by the doctors. My hearing and tinnitus have improved. I have not had this much energy in 30 years! And I haven’t slept like the way I do now since I was 25, thanks to the intense Hijama therapy.
